The Miquel family already owned vineyards in Languedoc under the old regime. Then she resumed in 1791 Domaine Cazal Viel, operated by the monks of the Abbey of Fontcaude.
These past generations have given us a great experience. Settled in the heart of Languedoc wine, we now know our land on the fingertips. We focus in our vineyards the grape varieties, Syrah and Viognier, which are best adapted to our soil and the most likely to return in any expression.
This allowed us to me and my father before me to gradually realize the potential of our wines and to give rise to wines of character. They reflect the diversity Languedocienne and inimitable typicity, with hints of garrigue and pine forest. That's the beauty of the place, the typical characteristics of the vineyard but before the potential of the area that attracted Laurent Miquel, winemaker of the family estate of Cazal Viel in Cessenon sur Orb.
Indeed, Laurent Miquel constantly works to achieve more balanced and elegant wines. So he wants to highlight the peculiarities of the area to create wines in his image. Laurent Miquel hopes to make his mark in the history of his family, but also one of the architects of the revival of the Languedoc vineyards.
