In the 80s, a Champenois steeped in the tradition of sparkling wines includes the interest of the terroir in Limoux AOC since 1938 - one of the oldest in France - and decided to settle there, Michel Dervin buys Domaine Laurens few hectares of vineyards producing the famous Blanquette de Limoux. In 2002 Jacques Calvel took over. By leveraging the expertise of Michel (always installed Champagne) and cellar master Henri Albrus, Jacques decides to expand and modernize the cellar of the Domaine Laurens to further secure and always quality wines of year to another. Today, the J.Laurens Estate is proud to produce a fine range of Blanquette de Limoux and Crémant de Limoux, have renewed the vineyards of Domaine Laurens and equipment, developed sales, expanded buildings area while having kept the pioneer spirit of the early years.
