Château Jouclary

In 1530, William of Jouclary, consul of Carcassonne and owner of Château Jouclary, let his name.
The area of sixty hectares belongs to the family since 1969 Gianesini.
Half of the production is claimed wines, another AOC Cabardès.
All from vineyards located on the clay and limestone slopes at very high stone content.
The vinification is traditional, with égrapage, temperature control and aged in vats or barrels, depending on the vintage.
In view of the towers of the medieval city of Carcassonne, in the foothills of the Black Mountains, the vineyard covers 60 hectares grouped around the Castle Jouclary. The vineyard, located 10 km north of Carcassonne, has a climate of transition in Mediterranean and oceanic influence explaining its originality. This transitional climate allows each grape variety to fully express its characteristics.
The ancient high stony terraces produce the most concentrated wines and densest in Cabardès. The low hills, to deeper soil, bring the wines of Château Jouclary fond of characters.
