Les Celliers d'Orfée

Historically from a single quality French winegrowing, the Celliers d'Orfee now operate a 1,200-hectare vineyard that spans 7 communes. Strong of this rapprochement of men but also of means, we wanted that the transmission of a know-how is our master word. Indeed we have seen in this simple fusion of cooperative cellars, the means to transcend our terroir.
The Cellier d'Orfee thus became more than a mere mark; It is our culture, our tradition, our origins, that we want to pass on to future generations.
Like Orpheus who went to fetch her sweetheart from the heart of the underworld, we went to fetch our wine of excellence in the heart of our land, our garrigue, our roots. Les Celliers d'Orfee has developed the Cuvée Sextant, which brings together all our beliefs. Like a Treasury, we saw in this cuvée, the quest for this transmission of history, values, memory as evidence.
But just as great words do not make great men, great vineyards do not necessarily make great wines. With this in mind, Les Celliers d'Orfée have surrounded themselves with men and women of experiments in the person of oenologist Christophe Groppi and his assistants Jérome Hourdel and Alain Cros.
Thanks to wine-making and wine-keeping, they raised the Cellier d'Orfée wines to the highest ranks, winning twice the title of the great wines of France in 1985 and 1995, as well as numerous medals Gold and many other highly praiseworthy prizes. Nevertheless, Les Celliers d'Orfee attaches particular importance to our values and principles of transmission, we strive to remain in price ranges always affordable.
Ultimately, through the wines of the Celliers d'Orfee, we try every day to answer one of the existential questions of the human race: how have we become what we are? We believe that the answer to this question lies in the history of our ancestors, in the know-how of "our lands" that have been transmitted to us.
You will find in our Cuvée Les Celliers d'Orfée Sextant (which has won 6 gold medals since 2007), the answer to the search for a treasure that brings us together and which will be accessible to you during a bottle.
