Domaine Thunevin-Calvet

Domaine Thunevin Calvet was born in 2001 from the meeting between Jean-Luc Thunevin, owner of Château Valandaud in St Emilion and Jean-Roger Calvet, young winemaker from local Maury, in the Roussillon.
Of modest size from the Calvet-Thunevin Domaine now reached the size of 60 hectares of vineyards exploited. The Calvet-Thunevin Estate is well located in the Maury appellation, the vineyard extends over a ground mainly of schistose marl, with some clay-limestone plots and other granite.
The vines of Domaine Calvet-Thunevin consists mainly of Grenache, Syrah and Carignan, Mourvèdre plus and a few other varieties. The work of the vine wants ecological, without chemical weeding and with treatments that least affected the environment.
The harvest of the Domaine Calvet-Thunevin are made by hand with sorting in the vineyard and cellar. The wines are made, depending on the vintage, or tank-cement or in barrels. In 2008, Calvet-Thunevin Domaine is also equipped with a new winery, via the most modern solutions in ecology and offering an efficient tool for ensuring the quality of its appellation wines Côtes du Roussillon Villages, Local wine of the Catalan coast and Maury.
