In 1966, Claude Calix bought his first vineyard in the locality of Gourg of Goundy. Subsequently, he successfully runs a business specializing in planting vineyards. In 2000, he decided to set the edge of the village of Vinassan and built the winery and the cellar of Domaine Sarrat Goundy. Today, the Domaine Sarrat Goundy is 70 hectares, run by his son Olivier. The Sarrat Goundy Domain is set in the "name AOC Clape.
