Domaine Du Joncas

Pascal Dalier working eight and a half hectares with his wife Christiane, the Domaine Du Joncas on the hillsides among the highest vineyards of Montpeyroux in the heart of the Terrasses du Larzac to over 300 meters.
I have always been passionate about wine, a passion transmitted by my father; I sold my company in 2008, put into practice in 2009 all the theory that I had learned all alone, I made an inventory of the terroirs from Sommières to Saint-Jean de Minervois because for me Languedoc, c Is the Eldorado of wine.
Compared to my tastes, it could not be anywhere else. And my belief was that organic was the only way to make pure and intense wines. Choosing as of 2009 to buy vines already conducted in organic agriculture (and today in biodynamics).
The New winemaker of Domaine Du Joncas has sought to meet a range of different soils, gravel, clay and limestone, Jurassic limestone on which Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Grenache Gris for indigenous varietals make up a Mediterranean pallet completed By some arpents of an audacious Riesling.
Domaine Du Joncas harvest and sorting manually, vinification without sulfur, combining concrete egg breeding tank for white, lightning and more barrels for the reds.
But from this palette, the wines of Domaine du Joncas, affirm a style: all the cuvées are chiselled to obtain a fine texture, tight, and all leave in the mouth a mineral sensation, true signature of the Domaine Du Joncas.
If one takes each first letter of the names of cuvée, one forms JONCA, it therefore misses an S to obtain the name of the Domain Du Joncas. S like Simpla, the simple, the pure in Occitan, the one that for the moment is still sleeping in a barrel brooded in the cellar of the Domaine Du Joncas. Micro-cuvee that we look forward to.
In 2011 was the first vintage of Domaine Du Joncas: "Everyone told us it was a dream vintage but we could not see it because we had the brain on fire! When we taste it today we say that it was true.
The arrival of the new winemaker of Domaine Du Joncas in Montpeyroux is an event. Because of of course the proven potential of this terroir.
The first cuvée of Domaine Du Joncas, Joia 2011 is a Languedoc.
Already tasted in crude of vat during the days "all cellars open" in Montpeyroux, this Obra 2011 confirms in bottle all its potential. Pascal and Christiane Dalier took over a part of the vineyards of the domaine des Grécaux.
