Bergerie Du Capucin

At 658 meters above sea level, between sea and foothills of the Cévennes, the Pic Saint Loup is full of scents, pure essences of the northernmost of Languedoc appellations: oaks, scrubland, pine, thyme, bay leaves, rosemary ...
The fruits are born in the heart of varied soils, clay and limestone marl on basements, and forge their character over contrasting seasons. In winter the earth collects enough water to balance the summers in moderate drought and temperature variations between day and night marked. Demanding land and contrasting the Pic Saint Loup, the typical characteristics of its soil and climate are all character traits of our wines.
Our operations, the Sheepfold of the Capuchin extends over twelve hectares, in the land of the Pic Saint Loup, in the communes of Lauret and Valflaunès. A few kilometers from our house, the cellar and the vault.
The Capuchin the Sheepfold still exists indeed: ownership of our family for over sixty years, she reminds us every day the memory of Joan, our grandmother, we wish to honor.
Because wine is also a family history, the beauty and bouquet of aromas glad values passed down from generation to generation.
To embody our first vintage, Joan, shepherdess in the highlands of the Sheepfold of the Capuchin, elegant woman, beautiful and lively, was imposed, recalling the delicate and round notes of our wines and dirt roads that borrowed every day.
