It is here, in this small village of Vacquières, that takes place the Domaine Les Grandes Costes.
Although family since the mid-nineteenth century, the operation consisted until 1990 buildings and 23 hectares of vines. The vines of Domaine Les Grandes Costes was then composed entirely unavoidable Aramon, Carignan and Cinsault all cut cups Languedoc.
The particular cellar vinified crop until the mid-60s to be exclusively sold in bulk table wine, was carried away by following the wine cooperative of Corconne Gard, 5 km away.
After a lifetime of labor, it was in 1992 that my grandfather, Joseph Granier, retiring at 88 years. The operation is then interrupted. This is the end of my studies I Montpellier "monte" in Paris. It's like advertising director at France's wine review that my passion for wine and the men who develop flourishes. A dozen Parisian and hectic years finally assert my provincial roots and the need for a change of activity. Why not make a profession of my passion? At the end of 1999, the die is cast: because I want to be winemaker, I'll winemaker. My bet: give new life to the family business Domaine Les Grandes Costes, make great or very great wines.
The year 2000 is a symbolic date. I throw myself headlong into a wine-eno training Agropolis Montpellier, I buy land and vineyards that I plant, I build and landscape the area of the winery Les Grandes Costes and my first vintage vinified. That year, my friends, my family and especially my father gave me support and help. They allowed me to start the adventure of Domaine Les Grandes Costes.
